A Definition: In Christianity, A ministry is an activity carried out by Christians to express or spread their faith
Parish ministries allow Catholics to develop a better understanding of Catholicism, deepen their faith and can have the power to shift significant change their feelings towards Christ. Today, local parishes offer a range of diverse and evolving ministries which establish a path, a path to a deeper connection to Christ or church. To take on a role in Sunday mass or to attend a bible study group can truly immerse the person in the faith.
Each ministry listed is a common church group or organisation that easily allows everyone to get involved in the parish which in turn will allow churchgoers to develop new relationships, share their talents or interests and feel apart of something. Each ministry highlights different elements or values of Catholicism.

Saint Vincent's/Salvation Army Catholic Charities
These two listed organisations are outside catholic ministries which are based around charitable actions like soup vans, giving support to those on the streets, second-hand clothing and many, many more related acts of kindness. They are always in need of volunteers and donations, to support or donate to these outside ministries is a rewarding and fulfilling way to become active in the church.

Financial Counselling Ministry
This modern, unique ministry lets the church become more then a place of worship but a place of support. The parish has qualified financial counselors on hand to help those who are in need of financial assistance, what this ministry offers is a place where you need not be ashamed of your troubles but are supported through it but professionals and church officials.

Kitchen/Coffee Fellowship Ministry
This ministry allows those with cooking or barista skills to easily get involved with their parish by helping after liturgies to serve cakes and coffee to the churchgoers whilst being able to meet like-minded new people who have similar occupations.
Children`s Ministry
A Children`s ministries purpose is for the spiritual enlightenment for the child in an accepting and fun environment. This ministry allows both child and parent to develop new relationships and deepen their faith whilst giving jobs to teachers.

Lay Ministry
The Lay ministry is a ministry within the church that allows people who are not ordained to play a key role in keeping the light of Christ alive. Lay people can anyone from alter boys, ministers of the eucharist or even just regular church-goers. If you wish to become a alter boy (for example) it requires little training and can be a great learning experience and in full will allow you to feel closer to God.

Men`s & Women`s Ministries
This diverse ministry is in connection with the children`s ministry as it allows men and women to go join a group of like-minded people with similar interests whilst forming new relationships and deepening their connection towards God.
