About us - THE BODY OF CHRIST

The church acts as the foundation of the body of Christ. Although it is a building, it marks Christ and is a place where Christ’s presence is still with us. It is stable, long-lasting and cannot be moved meaning that Christ will always at least be where the church is. It is his body as it cannot speak to others, but still keeps his body and presence here on earth with us today.

The people of the church also make up the body of Christ. The people learn about him in church and keep his body moving. They go out and spread his word by living out his teachings in everyday life. They ensure his body and word is not restricted to only the grounds of the church. They make his presence alive in the everyday world by being followers of him and are the people who move to make his body move. This is why it is crucial to be active members of the church as we are so important in keeping his body not only in the church, but also out.

The clergy are essential part in making up the body of Christ. They keep his body going and ensure that his body is passed on to the people of the church. They conduct the masses, sacraments and events and basically make people come to the church. The lay people go out of the church and visit people in the hospital and other places and carry the body of Christ with them.

The church is the body of Christ because his teachings are within it. He makes up a major part of the church so what he makes up of the church he is also made up of. His word and teachings are what he is known for and they are an essential part of the church.

The lay people also make up the body of Christ. The lay people go out of the church and visit people in the hospital and other places and carry the body of Christ with them. Despite not being clergy, they are still expected to embody the teaching of Christ and be the body of Christ.

The Eucharist in church is the body of Christ. The bread and wine is often referenced as the body and blood of Christ. This bread and blood is consumed during Eucharist in Church and is one of the primary reasons people go to church.
